Christian Base Communities

Our Christian Base Communities will minister to Christians who have become disillusioned, disaffected, disenfranchised, or otherwise disempowered by the complacency and, yes, complicity of the Church regarding injustices to Black and indigenous people of color, as well as other marginalized groups such as women, immigrants, and the poor.  â€‹

By cultivating a space of restorative and just relationship amongst ourselves, we will discern how to engage our other spaces with God’s truth. Our network of Base Communities thus will become a gospel-centered community organizing force on a local and national level, seeking to renew the Church and the Christian mission and theological vision, as well seeking to bring about the common good in society more broadly.

Network:

Our Base Communities, though relatively autonomous, gather around a core ethos focused on restorative and just relationship-building. Litehouse is strongest as we forge our vision together and gather our collective resources. We seek to forge a broader space to display what God is doing through the Base Communities, reflecting on opportunities in our contexts and current events, and strengthening our voices.

Education:

We develop webinars/seminars, seasonal events, and courses for the general public, for pastors, ministries, and churches, and for Christian colleges, universities, and seminaries . Such educational engagement will focus on theological and practical training for cultivating a Church that is antiracist and equitable.
